Joint Committee on Finance

On Friday, November 30, I had the honor of being appointed to the Joint Committee on Finance by Assembly Speaker - elect Robin Vos for the 2013-2014 Legislative Session that begins on January 7, 2013. The Joint Committee on Finance is a statutory, 16-member standing committee of the Wisconsin Legislature. The Committee's primary responsibility is to serve as the principal legislative committee charged with the review of all state appropriations and revenues, including the biennial budget.

I’m excited to get to work immediately for the taxpayers of the 88th Assembly District and the state of Wisconsin and build on the strong foundation of fiscal responsibility set last session. I’m confident that my experience will bring new views and ideas to the committee so that we can find bi-partisan solutions to the problems facing our state.

An informational paper compiled by the Wisconsin Legislative Fiscal Bureau outlining the Committee's responsibilities can be found here.

Rep. John Nygren - Co-Chair

Assembly Committee on Energy and Utilities

I've also been appointed to serve my second term on the Assembly Committee on Energy and Utilities. I've always felt that strong energy policies are necessary to move Wisconsin forward. I will continue to work to promote low-cost, long-term, sustainable energy solutions that benefit everyone in our state.
