The July 7th updates include the reports regarding Governor Scott Walker's latest attempt to promote his agenda to develop an open pit taconite mine in Wisconsin's wilderness. Walker has hired Behre Dolbear & Company to analyze Wisconsin's mining laws. This project, if allowed to proceed will impact the Bad River Watershed, the Kakagon Sloughs, the largest wild rice beds in the Great Lakes and the Homeland of the Bad River Ojibwe Nation.
