Another question regarding the Wood turtles has not been addressed which is, why is there no discussion of the extensive foraging areas that wood turtles require which will, no doubt, extend far into the "forbidden zone”. How does this need for foraging impact the protection for these very important critters living in the Penokees? It seems that DNR is ignoring this very important question. If this is, indeed, accurate will this same policy also be applied to the deer, bear, birds, plants, and people living in this fragile ecosystem?
